Crosspolynations
The pieces in this exhibition represent years and years of collecting different examples of woven and constructed pieces from my travels on the African Continent.
We have Baskets, Brooms, Hats, Bags, Fans
and
Baskets full of Hand Spun Wool, Cotton, and Mohair.
In an effort to explain how cloth is woven, we also have a beautiful example of a loom that was used to weave Kuba textiles in Kasai, the central southern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This loom really gives one a sense of how these beautiful raffia textiles are constructed.
